Well after a day or 2 of voting Shiawassee County Fire Talkgroups came out the winner for the next new digital MPSCS feed.  I have finished all the programing and software setup for the feed.  You can view it's page here. You will see a list of the talkgroups that are on the feed as well as the direct MP3 links and flash play code.  We may move the 78f911-vhf phone number to this feed I will post if and when that happens.  I will also been going through the phone system and adding phone numbers to the new feeds and verifying the database of numbers to feeds. 

Also tonight 5 weeks of fire alert signups where completed. With the move and having the flu for 2 weeks just not finding a free moment to keep up on them.  I have enlisted the help of a friend to help make sure they get done quicker. Might even get another friend as well if we keep growing at the rate we do.  197 different signups in that 5 weeks of time.  I am not sure how many unique address alerts hit but some departments/tone out groups are over 200 each.. So thinking around 1400 unique address's signed up to one or more fire alerts.

Thank you all again for voting for the next new feed and for the donations of the gear. This feed would not have happend as quick if it wern't for the donations and support of you the listeners.  Let's keep growning and adding more feeds. As there is support for the other feeds.

Well it is with a good feeling inside that I am announcing the launch of 2 new Ingham County EDACS Feeds.  519-LPD-North and 519-LPD-South.  Each feed has the main dispatch channel and the tac channel for north/south. These feeds are also in the main ventrilo server for real time listening.  Server: vent.moses.bz  Port: 3027   As I am getting well over 30 feeds now some order is to come of the naming of the feeds with this in mind following the MPSCS slightly and using the UCRP ORI Agency Table Codes for naming of feeds.  So Lansing fire is now 519-lfd and East Lansing/MSU PD is now 364-ELPD. Out county fire dispatch feed will get re-tagged soon as will other feeds.  Please don't forget to vote for the next MPSCS Digital scanner feed below as well. Looks like Livingston County Fire is in the lead with state wide gevent talkgroups in second place.  I will stop the voting sometime over the weekend when I get ready to launch the new feed.

As always thanks for everybody's donations and help getting these 2 new feeds launched and the new up coming digital feed.  I promise once these feeds are done I will get to the fire alert signups with moving to our new home things are very busy around here.  I am also going to be setting the system up for a few helpers to help me get signups done quicker.  So that should be coming along as well.

I have been givin a new MPSCS Digital scanner that can be used for a new feed.  But I don't know what feed to launch next.  I have more thoughts for feeds then what scanners I have now so I figured I would put a poll up and let you the users make points.  As a note the wife and I moved to our house in Livingston county and I have setup a fire alert system for that county that will be launching soon hence I am including Livingston county in the poll.

So while at radio shack today getting audio cables and parts for work I saw they had a digital noaa weather radio on sale for 19.99. It didn't have jacks for audio or external antenna but i figured that would be easy to mod. If it had an AC adapter I would be fine.  I have always toyed with the idea of having NWR feeds here as they would be on emergency power and the like.  So I got the radio.  Spent a little time this afternoon modding it and getting it ready. I left a small pig tale on the internal speaker if i need to hook it up to listen localy to it was a simple plug in.  The feed is up I need to get a phone number pointed to it but that should be all that's left.  I am also feeding the audio to weatherunderground and there NWR audio project. Finaly heard the garbled transmissions from 25PD-SOUTH this morning.  Went to the site and found the radio decoding the control channel about 10% out of 8 other radios on the multicoupler it was the only one doing it.  When listening to the audio I heard what sounded like a wining in the audio.  When I broke the ground RF connection off the multicoupler it went away and decode went back up to 95%.  Installed a ground isolator into the antenna and decode is holding good.

While I was there I removed the 25REG1 talkgroup from the 25EMS feed there patch from analog sucks. And is over modulated and just makes listening to the feed crap...  I added 25PATRI for Patriot Ambulance in its place...  I may also put MMR South in it.. But didn't right the talk group down before I left for the site.
